Bill of Materials
The Bill of Materials (BOM) is broken down by component type and for those components that have multiple values you, as the end user, can pick and choose which components are best suited to your project. For each sub-circuit there is a matching assembly section.
To view the BOM, it can be found in the docs directory and is called Jaguar-0.7-alpha.ods.
Overview with Important notes
- Make sure you read and understand the instructions before continuing.
Legend of acronyms
Some of these acronyms are used in the schematic documentation.
- AAP: (Atmospheric Absloute Pressure)
- Used for normalisation of the MAP vs atmospheric pressure, this is considered optional. Choose this if you live in a mountainous area, or intend to visit such areas using your vehicle. Currently this is not supported on the Jaguar Revision A3 board, but may have a pad to connect the supporting circuitry to in a future revision.
- BDM: (Background Debug Module)
- Used to program the Serial Monitor and for additional troubleshooting.
- BRV: (Battery Reference Voltage)
- Input circuitry to convert battery voltage to an acceptable voltage input for the MCU.
- CHT: (Coolant Head Temperature)*
- Sensor used to measure engine coolant temperature in the water jacket.
- DIS: (Distributorless Ignition System)
- A method of wasted spark ignition implemented on General Motors vehicles.
- DMM: (Digital Multimeter)
- Used for testing amperage, resistance and voltage.
GND: (Ground)
- IAT: (Intake Air Temperature)
- Sensor used to measure outside air temperature, usually found in the air cleaner.
IGN: (Ignition)
INJ: (Injector)
- MAF: (Mass Air Flow)
- This is an alternative to the MAP sensor that is unsupported at this time, however the circuit is cheap and can be used as a general purpose analog input also. There is a pad to connect supporting circuitry to for this input (labeled MAF Sensor) or you might be able to use the MAT sensor input instead. Check the Jaguar forum for more details.
- MAT: (Manifold Air Temperature)
- Sensor used to measure the air temperature inside the intake manifold.
- MAP: (Manifold Absolute Pressure)
- The BOM is tailored to a normally aspirated vehicle with the preferred sensor (MPX4100AP) and provides sufficient accuracy for all naturally aspirated vehicles. If you are going to use the Jaguar board on a boosted vehicle then you should use a MPX4250AP which has sufficient range to cover boosted applications up to 21psi. If you are planning boost levels in excess of or close to 21psi, from a relatively large turbo, there are other options that you need to investigate.
- O2: (Oxygen)
- Only linear wide-band lambda sensors are supported at this time by the freeems-vanilla firmware.
RPM: (Revolutions Per Minute)
TPS: (Throttle Position Sensor)
USB: (Universal Serial Bus)

Sourcing the components
If you ordered a Jaguar kit from Andy:
All of the components found in the BOM have been included in the kit, you do not need any additional components.
Digi-Key:
The BOM with Digi-Key part numbers has been the only BOM developed for the Jaguar board at this time.
Newark, Mouser or Element14:
Unfortunately Newark, Mouser or Element14 BOM equivalents have not yet been developed for the Jaguar board, if you find the equivalent part numbers from one of these suppliers, let me know and I will include it in the Jaguar repository.
Just copy and paste the supplier part numbers for required components to the relevant suppliers shopping cart.
